Mr. Billie Eugene Henry, 77, a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather passed away peacefully at his home on the first day of spring, March 20, 2010. His beloved wife of 52 years, Mrs. Beverly Guy Henry, was by his side. He was born September 2, 1932 in Purcell, Oklahoma to John and Maggie Henry. He graduated from Lincoln High School in Kansas City, Missouri and later attended Kansas City Junior college and the University of Missouri - Kansas City. Between high school and college, he served and was discharged honorably from the United State Air Force for his service to our country in the Korean War.

He continued to excel in his professional career, ultimately retiring from the federal government agency, the General Services Administration, as Senior Programming Analyst.  Mr. Henry played an active role in Saint Louis Church for more than forty years. He served on the church's Deanery Council, was an active member of Agape Sowers, former member of Peter Claver, Council 265 and was Captain for the Fourth Degree. He was also a member of the church choir and received the Bishop's Award for his work in the Parish. 

He is remembered and respected by his loving family as a strong, thoughtful, and caring man, who enjoyed traveling. He continued to travel through the final months of his life, spending his favorite holiday of Thanksgiving with all the members of his extended family in his wife's ancestral home state of Kentucky.

Preceded in death by his parents and his brother Franklin Reginald Henry, he is survived by the love of his life, his wife and caregiver, Beverly Guy Henry. He also leaves behind his faithful children, his daughter Monica Henry Goodwin and her devoted husband Michael W. Goodwin, and his son Dr. LaVaughn  M. Henry and his wife, Carmen R. Henry. His four grandchildren John G. Henry IV, Cameron E. Henry, Jonathan M. Goodwin and Marissa E. Goodwin faithfully carry his legacy forward. His beloved aunt Millie Richardson, his uncle Ted Henry and wife Ann, and a host of other family and friends also survive him.
