Bobby Darnell Lee Sr. 62, was born July 16, 1947 in Waco, Texas to the late Eleanor Francis Lee-Williams. Also preceding him in death was step-father, Collus Williams Sr., step-brother, Lafayette Williams and sister, Collus Elaine Williams.

He attended public schools and participated in athletics (especially Baseball and Track & Field). Bobby was an avid jogger who would run from the north side of town to the eastside without stopping, at a young age. But, the thing that he enjoyed most was pitching a baseball and “striking out” his “big brother” Richard (3 years older) in the backyard. A truly caring and thoughtful person who remembers “all” family members birthdays and made sure they received a card or gift on their special day.

Bobby was baptized at an early age by the late Reverend Dr. L. Fernandez Hardee, Pastor, First Baptist Church, Waco, Texas. He was a member of youth groups and the Cub and Boy Scout Troops while growing up in the church. Bobby served in the U.S. Army with tours of duty at several Army posts in the U.S.  and Germany. He came to Kansas City, Kansas approximately seventeen years ago and began working in the “building maintenance” field. The last several years of his life, he worked for Block Building Maintenance of Overland Park, Kansas.

Several of his friends and co-workers have indicated that Bobby was a fun-loving guy who was great to be around. Although he is no longer in pain and has gone on to a better place, Bobby will be greatly missed by his family: sons, Lelton Ray Woodard, California, Bobby Lee Jr, Texas; daughter Laura Ashley Lewis, Louisiana; brothers Richard T. Lee Sr., Leonard Ray Williams, Frankie Carl Williams, Reginald Williams, Collus Williams Jr. Adolphus Williams, Collus Lemoyne Williams; sisters Cynthia Kay Watson, Cheryl Williams, Yolanda Williams, Gayle Williams and Mary Williams as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
