Paul Edward Phoenix was born April 9, 1939 to William E. and Katherine Phoenix in Brookfield, Missouri.  He was raised by his grandparents Turner and Lizzie Phoenix after the death of his parents as an infant of 3 months.

Paul attended Park Elementary and graduated from Brookfield High School in 1957, where he was an All American in high school receiving a full athletic scholarship to the University of Missouri.

He later moved to Chicago, IL, Denver, CO and later settling in Cleveland, OH where he retired from TRW.

After retirement, Paul relocated to Kansas City, MO becoming an area supervisor with the Election Board.  He was a member of Paradise Missionary Baptist Church participating in the Male Choir, ushering and various volunteer projects.

Paul was preceded in death by both parents and grandparents. He departed this life for eternal home on Saturday, April 3, 2010.

He leaves to celebrate his life his wife Eurma Phoenix of the home; daughter, Edith Blackburn (Larry) of Griffin, GA; son, Victor Phoenix (Somona) of Shaker Heights, OH; stepsons; Don Baker of Honolulu, HI and Derrick Jones of Kansas City, MO; grandchildren, Aaron Broadwater, Dejah Williams, Lauren Phoenix, Dara Jones, great grandchild Jermaine Henderson; cousins and many great friends.
