Rathena Forbes 53,  was diagnosed with cancer of the esophagus in 1999 and went into remission in 2004, only to have the cancer return in 2010.  She lost a courageous battle on May 31, 2010, surrounded by family and friends especially her loving and devoted mother who never left her side during her final hours.

Rathena was educated in the Kansas City Missouri School District having last attended Paseo High School She was employed at K.P.R.S. radio station for a period of time as a secretary and later worked for several local companies. She had no biological children but enjoyed her brothers and sisters and treated her nieces and nephews as though they were her own. We will miss her dearly but god knows how much we can bear.   "see you when we get  there" Her Father Clyde T.Forbes Sr,a sister Ruth D.Forbes-Gilbert, a niece Latonya Thornton, a nephew Derrick E. Forbes, Her Maternal and Paternal Grandparents, A host of aunts and uncles awaited her at the Gates of Heaven.

(1) Aunt Freddie of Winfield, Kansas A very special friend "Scottie", 10 nieces 22 nephews 17 great nephews and 22 great nieces all of Kansas City Mo.
