Sophronia Ann Thornton Robinson was born on November 14, 1937 to Wallace & Jewella Brown. She was born seventh of ten children. She was preceded in death by both parents, one son, James Edward, Freddy Thornton (first husband), Phillip (brother), Ivory Mae (sister), Marvina & Marian Robinson (stepdaughters), and Donnell McKinnley Robinson (Step grandson).

She attended school in Muskogee, Oklahoma, where she accepted Christ at a young age. She relocated to Kansas City, Missouri in the early 60s. She worked as a domestic laborer for over fifty years. She was a lover of plants and flowers. She joined Hosana Missionary Baptist Church in the early 70s. She later married Oliver Robinson in 1978. To this union, she inherited nine stepchildren.

She served as President of the Usher Board, Treasurer and member of the Willing Workers Club, member of the Mother Board and member of the clean Up Committee.  She served faithfully in the kitchen. Her beautiful smile met no strangers and she was a friend to all. She will be greatly missed.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Oliver Robinson, six stepchildren: Marilyn Barnes, Oliver Robinson (Valencia),Marlene Pierson, and Brian Keith Robinson all of St. Paul MN; Kelvin Robinson (Vicki), Marsha Robinson, Elvira Hicks, and Maxine Banks all of Kansas City, MO. Elizabeth French, Pondo, TX; Erma Jean Mack. Bernice Brown of Oakland, CA and Wallace Brown (Phyllis), Muskogee, OK.  A special friend and confidant, Wanda Ryan; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, her church family and friends.
